07 MOUNTAIN WALL HOUSE

Set in a rural landscape along the coast of Norway, two small mountain walls creates the premises for the project. By adding a dry stacked stone wall to each of the existing natural walls, two spaces are created. They become an atelier and a house for two artists, connected together with a small trail. A minimalistic expression and use of glass and wood details enhances the close and the far view towards the surroundings. The plan encourages the user to make flowing movements between being outside in the open, and inside the architecture articulated between the old and the new stone wall. With a conceptual approach, the projects seeks to enhance the existing qualities of the site and the beauty nature’s surfaces.
